CRAIG ENNETT AWARD

On December 5, 2010 pharmacy lost a great supporter and a great friend. Although he was in the fight of his life against brain cancer, Craig Ennett never stopped living. Even when his illness kept him from the profession he loved, he remained interested and as involved as he could. During his pharmacy career Craig served as a member of the Board of Directors of the Pharmacy Association of Nova Scotia and various Committees. He was always eager to lend a hand. Craig also was very involved in the work of the Immigrant Settlement & Integration Services (ISIS) where he helped open doors for International Pharmacy Graduates (IPGs) who had chosen to make Nova Scotia their home. Craig always strove to create a “small town pharmacy” environment in the pharmacies in which he worked by listening and empathizing with his patients/costumers. He knew that living and working in a multicultural society required being open-minded and welcoming to IPGs so international and Canadian pharmacists could share experiences and learn from each other to better serve patients.

In recognition of Craig’s exceptional contributions to pharmacy (particularity his outstanding work welcoming IPGs to the pharmacy profession in Nova Scotia) and as a celebration of Craig`s life, PANS and ISIS is pleased to announce the Craig Ennett Award.

The Craig Ennett Award will be awarded by PANS and ISIS each year at the Annual PANS Awards Luncheon to a pharmacist who exemplifies Craig`s efforts on behalf of IPGs in Nova Scotia. The recipient will be selected by a committee made of representatives from ISIS and PANS.

Nomination Criteria

  • A pharmacist who has practiced in Nova Scotia (nominee may be retired)
  • Nominee has played an active role in welcoming IPGs to the profession of pharmacy in Nova Scotia and significantly contributed to opening doors and reducing barriers for IPGs in the pharmacy profession
