Reporting to Director of the College of Pharmacy, the incumbent will provide leadership, organization and support to the CPE Division by developing and implementing opportunities to advance the profession of pharmacy.  Â
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and manage the implementation of professional programs to advance the knowledge and skills of pharmacists. This may include web based, live classroom, symposiums, lectures, annual refresher courses.
- Guide program development within NAPRA standards by conducting needs assessments, adapting current programs for Internet application, and expanding certificate programs through evaluation and arranging for accreditation.
- Participate as a member of the Drug Evaluation Alliance of Nova Scotia (DEANS) Management Committee and be responsible for the dissemination of the Academic Detailing Services (ADS) educational message to pharmacists; integrating evidence and critical appraisal into educational interventions is a major focus for this position.
- Manage the administration of all programs, plan and organize live programs, communicate various program and registration information, and maintain alliances within the pharmaceutical industry and drug store chains.
- Develop an integrated overall strategy for the Continuing Education Division that ensures that the unit is self-funded and income generating.
Qualifications:
Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy, registered (or eligible for registration) as a pharmacist in the province of Nova Scotia, as well as a minimum of three years’ experience in pharmacy practice. An advanced degree or courses in pharmacy, education or administration would be an asset. Strong organizational and time management skills, as well as exceptional oral and written communication skills are essential. Excellent interpersonal skills, problem-solving ability, supervisory skills and the ability to work on several projects concurrently are a must. Knowledge of learning software, managing budgets and generating revenue would be an asset.

Salary Range:Â $50,788 – $68,714 per annum (ADM-06) (with a market differential)
This position has a provisional classification. The Job Evaluation Unit will initiate a formal classification process in approximately six months.
This position is part of the Dalhousie Professional & Managerial Group (DPMG).
