Pharmacy Model of the Future: it starts today in Nova Scotia

Dartmouth, NS – Today, 11 community pharmacy primary care clinics across the province open their doors to provide pharmacist-led primary care services. These clinics, from Yarmouth to Sydney will improve access to community based primary care services in Nova Scotia, one pharmacy clinic appointment at a time. A 12th site, in Bedford West, will open later in February.

Dartmouth, NS – The Pharmacy Association of Nova Scotia (PANS) presented their annual awards virtually over the weekend highlighting the enormous contributions that members of the profession have made to their communities over the past 18 months.

High Demand Continues for Essential Healthcare Services at Pharmacies During Pandemic

Dartmouth, N.S. – Almost one in five Nova Scotians used pharmacies to obtain healthcare services since the COVID-19 Pandemic reached Nova Scotia almost one year ago.

Pharmacists in the province wrote more than 165,000 prescription renewals for patients in 2020.  This is on top of the almost 20,000 assessments done for shingles, urinary tract infections (UTIs) and birth control, and more than two hundred thousand flu shots.
