This learning module is designed to provide information for pharmacists and technicians on the Nova Scotia Take Home Naloxone Program (THN), including how to become a register THN Program Site, and THN Program form requirements. The goal of the module is, to enhance your knowledge and awareness of opioid use disorder, the safety and effectiveness of naloxone, harm reduction principles and the current opioid crisis in Canada. This module will also discuss how to create a positive and safe learning environment for participants and to reduce stigma. Finally, this module will outline the information to be shared with program participants. Information includes: the signs of opioid overdose, how naloxone works, when to use it, and how to effectively respond and administer naloxone during an opioid overdose.
