The PANS Adult Immunization Program will provide pharmacists with an overview of the vaccine preventable diseases as well and the immunizations available for prevention. This will include:
- measles, mumps, rubella
- tetanus, diptheria, pertussis
- human papilloma virus
- herpes zoster
In addition the course will cover practical aspects of immunization service delivery such as the provision of comprehensive immunization assessments, documentation, administration techniques, communications with patients with regards to frequently asked questions or myths, as well as prevention and managment of immunization quality related events. Upon completion of this course, pharmacists will have the knowledge, skills and competencies to integrate immuniation services into practice.
Note: This program does not include travel vaccinations. PANS offers a separate Travel Medicine Program for Pharmacists.
Upon completion of the course content, pharmacists will be required to complete an assessment which will consist of 30 multiple choice questions. The passsing grade is 70% and participants will be provided 3 attempts to achieve this grade.
