Two Nova Scotia pharmacies are participating in the SPOT study, a Nova Scotia Health research initiative led by dermatologist Dr. Richard Langley. As of August 18, 2026 all available appointments are now full.
About the SPOT Study
Through the SPOT study, patients will be seen by a medical student and pharmacist. A dermatoscopic image of the mole or skin lesion will be taken, reviewed, and sent to a participating dermatologist.
This process will help dermatologists identify patients who should be assessed urgently and support faster triage for patients whose lesions may otherwise be considered non-urgent or semi-urgent.
