Allergies

Pharmacists can assess your allergy symptoms and when appropriate prescribe medications that can help relieve allergy symptoms of the nose, eyes, skin (such as hives), and medication to have on hand for emergency treatment of anaphylaxis. Allergies are immune system responses to substances known as allergens, which can include pollen, mold, dust mites, pet dander, and various foods. Symptoms may include:

  • Sneezing
  • Runny or stuffy nose
  • Itching in the eyes, nose, mouth, throat and or skin
  • Sore throat due to mucus dripping down the back of the throat

There is no fee for this service with your valid Nova Scotia Health Card at Nova Scotia pharmacies and pharmacy clinics.
