A viral condition which presents as a small blister(s), small yellow blisters on the edge of the mouth and/or near the nose. Symptoms may include:

• Tingling, itching and burning sensation present on the lips before cold sore forms
• Red, fluid-filled blisters that are painful to the touch and usually present within 2-3 days
• Ruptured blisters with clear or yellowish fluid present within 4-5 days
• Yellow crust formed on the sores that may crack or bleed
• Pink or red sores present where crust falls off
