Emergency Contraception Assessment & Prescribing

This service is to provide advice, access and prescribing of emergency contraception (medication given after unproteceted sex to prevent pregnancy). Emergency contraception is used in the context of unprotect sex or in the event of contraception failure. There are multiple forms of emergency contraception available, Plan B and its generics are available over the counter, while others require a prescription. This assessment is designed to assess whether emergency contraception is appropriate, prescribe medication if deemed necessary and safe, and provide support and guidance.
