Lyme Disease Prevention + Treatment of Early Lyme Disease

For those patients who have had a recent tick bite who require lyme disease preventative treatment or those who have signs of early lyme disease (red rash after a tick bite). If you have a skin concern and are feeling generally unwell, with or without fever, you should seek care with another provider. Eligible patients for lyme disease prevention treatment include those who:

  • had a blagged leg tick that was attached
  • it has been less than 72 hours since they have removed the tick
  • the tick was attached for >/= 36 hours

Eligible patients for early lyme disease treatment include those who:

  • had a tick bite and now have a red rash (with or without bulls eye appearance)

There is no fee for this service with your valid Nova Scotia Health Card at Nova Scotia pharmacies and pharmacy clinics.
