Oral Fungal Infection (Oral Thrush)

An infection of the mouth or throat caused by an overgrowth of a yeast-like fungus called Candida which is naturally found in the oral cavity. Symptoms may include:

  • White patches on the inner cheeks, tongue, gums, lips, throat, tonsils, and/or roof of mouth
  • Slight bleeding when white patches are scraped off
  • Painful, burning sensation of the mouth
  • Loss of taste or bad taste in the mouth

There is no fee for this service with your valid Nova Scotia Health Card at Nova Scotia pharmacies and pharmacy clinics.
