The pharmacist will assess your symptoms. If they are deemed to be a result of pink eye or allergies, the pharmacy may prescribe eye drops to treat the condition. Symptoms may include:
- Redness in the eyes
- Itchiness in the eyes
- Sandy or gritty feeling in the eyes
- Increased sensitivity to light
- Discharge from the eyes, which can form a crust overnight and cause the eyes to stick shut in the morning. An infection of the thin transparent layer that covers the outer surface of the eye which can be caused by allergens, bacteria, viruses, and other irritants.
