And the winner is… PANS Awards Gala 2025 celebrates pharmacy professionals across Nova Scotia

This past weekend the Pharmacy Association of Nova Scotia celebrated our outstanding pharmacists, pharmacy technicians, and pharmacy assistants from across the province. The Awards Gala held on September 27, 2025 and sponsored by Gallagher Insurance, celebrated the following outstanding pharmacy professionals:

• Pharmacist of the Year: Laurette Roach (New Waterford, NS)
• Bowl of Hygeia (outstanding contributions to pharmacy and community): Karen Barberie (Halifax, NS) 
• Pharmacy Manager of the Year: Mike Pelly (Elmsdale, NS) -- new award this year!
• Pharmacy Team of the Year: MacKeigan's Pharmacy (Whycocomagh, NS)
• Pharmacy Technician of the Year: Alicia Redden (Antigonish, NS)
• Pharmacy Assistant of the Year: Mona Genier (Halifax, NS)
• Future Leader: Ainsley Duykers (Shelburne, NS)
• Distinguished Service: Brian Petite (Glace Bay, NS) & Pam Kennedy (Bridgewater, NS)

We also recognized members’ Long-Service Awards: 25 years and 40 years.
