We are so excited to be launching a new segment called #WhatsThatWeds with Archie and his friends! Each week Archie from #ArchieSays will share some of his healthcare knowledge with his new buddies to teach them about some topics they don't know about.

Every Wednesday we will choose one animal to be highlighted in the graphic for #WhatsThatWeds that will be shared across our social media platforms. If you are interested in seeing your fur baby in the spotlight, follow the steps below. 

Steps to submitting your image:

2. Attach the image of your pet to the email 

3. In the message section let us know the name of your animal (Breed is optional) 

4. Hit send!

Meet #FlynntheAussie

Today on #WhatsThatWeds Flynn learned that Diabetes is a result of the body either not being able to produce or properly use the hormone made by the pancreas called insulin.

Insulin regulates the body’s glucose (sugar) levels in the bloodstream and ensure the body functions properly.

There are three major types of Diabetes which include:

  • Type 1
  • Type 2
  • Gestational

Meet #StellatheShihtzuPug

This #WhatsThatWeds Stella learned that a minor aliment is a condition that requires minimal treatment and/or self-care strategies. It does not require any blood work or lab tests and can be managed by your pharmacist.

Examples of possible Minor aliments include:

  • Nausea
  • Non-infectious Diarrhea
  • Dandruff
  • Mild Acne

Meet #HarleytheAdoptedPup

This #WhatsThatWeds Harley learned that the Bloom Program is the first of its kind in both Canada and internationally and is designed to increase and improve mental health and addition care for Nova Scotians.

Funded by the Nova Scotia Department of Health and Wellness and administered by the Nova Scotia Health Authority the program comes at no cost to patients. Benefits include:

  • No waitlist.
  • One-on-one care and patient advocacy from your pharmacist.
  • Access to and information about community mental health and addiction resources.
  • Assistance in navigating the mental health and addictions system in Nova Scotia.
  • Help managing medication-related issues.
