Pharmacogenomics is the study of how a person’s genes can affect their response to medications. Combining genetic information with clinical data is an intervention that may improve the safety and effectiveness of medication therapy.

On April 23, 2020 PANS hosted a webinar with psychiatrist, Dr. Jackie Kinley titled: Covid-19: What’s normal? - Coping with anger, fear and loss within yourself and among your team. This recorded webinar will help you to know what to expect emotionally and what relationship issues or concerns might naturally arise during times of crisis. It will include tips and coping strategies for you, your teams, and families.
Note: This program is open to all pharmacy team members: including pharmacy technicians and pharmacy assistants.
Pharmacists work in complex health care environments on a daily basis. The long hours, large volumes of patients, demanding pace, professional isolation and emotional intensity can all put pharmacists at high risk for burnout.
This continuing education program has been developed as a collaboration between the Pharmacy Association of Nova Scotia and the College of Pharmacy, Dalhousie University. It will include both this online component as well as a live date session. Accreditation for the program will be for 5.5 CEU. A certificate will be provided upon completion.
This learning module is designed to provide information for pharmacists and technicians on the Nova Scotia Take Home Naloxone Program (THN), including how to become a register THN Program Site, and THN Program form requirements. The goal of the module is, to enhance your knowledge and awareness of opioid use disorder, the safety and effectiveness of naloxone, harm reduction principles and the current opioid crisis in Canada.
